In the frames of the International Forum of Food Industry and Packaging IFFIP 2016, the conference “Packaging of Ukraine and SaveFood initiative” took place.

The event was organized by Ukrainian Flexible Packaging Association, Packagers Club and Kyiv International Contract Fair.

Among the key presentations of the event there were those of Oleksandr Oleksandrov, representative of the DOW Ukraine company, Iryna Miroshnyk, chairman of the Board of UKRPLASTYK, Oleksandr Kozlov, representative of Dupont Ukraine.

Participants of the conference were the leading specialists of food and packaging industry, Ukrainian associations of food products, trade networks.

The Dow company, which participated in the event with a keynote, was a multidirectional chemical company using achievements in science and machinery for the sake of the mankind’s progress. From 2003, the company joined the SaveFood initiative, which targeted prevention of food losses.

The company representative demonstrated the already realized projects and initiatives, innovative packaging solutions and technological possibilities of flexible packaging. Important accent was made on ecological safety of using such materials.

UKRPLASTYK is an active participant of the SaveFood initiative. Iryna Miroshnyk, chairman of the Board, told about losses of food because of the improper packaging and about solving the problem of food losses.

Representatives of the industry’s enterprises taking part in the conference could estimate the possibilities of innovative packaging materials, learn effective ways of solving the problem of food losses, as well as a chance to ask questions to the speakers.
